Kindergarten classes were learning about national symbols and one of the symbols they were learning about was the bald eagle. Even as an adult, I have a always had a hard time grasping the size of an actual eagle's nest. To help the kindergarteners (and really everyone at school) get a sense of the size of those majestic bird's nests, I built a life size replica in the story area. Each class got to carefully sit inside the nest as we read informational books about our national bird. We then read a fun book, one of my favorites, called The Perfect Nest. It was an experience we will all remember!
I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in 2nd grade, but I have always loved visiting the library. After teaching for 11 years, it was time to follow my heart- straight to the library! I love books!! I read as often as I can, all kinds of books. One of my proudest accomplishments is raising four book loving children.
